If you want to learn about yoga beyond just the asana (poses), then you're in the right place. I weave aspects of meditation, pranayama (breathing practices), tantra and philosophy into my teachings. I honour the roots of this practice and the context from which I was taught in India, and the many teachers that play a part in my knowledge and experience. Yoga is so much more than an exercise regime, for me it is how I live each day, on and off the mat. If you would like to develop a sense of presence and contentment, whatever life might throw at you, then what I teach is for you!
These run twice a week on Monday and Thursday evenings (register here). These provide an opportunity for the more experienced to practitioner to come together with our online sangha to move and be together from the comfort of your own home. Many of my students have been with me since my early teaching days, and are very welcoming bunch to all newcomers. These are practice classes rather than teaching new skills, though I always like to add in new flows or techniques that I have tried and found useful in my own practice!
These can be booked in blocks of 3/5/10 classes and are tailored to meet your specific goals. We can meet together online via Zoom, or you can visit me at my home in Croydon, South London where I have a dedicated teaching space, and all the yoga props you'll need. We'll have a chat before your first session so that you can share your aim for these classes, and I can design content to meet those goals. 1:1 sessions are great for beginners, those returning to yoga after a break, or those with a specific issue they'd like to overcome. ( I am not a therapist/medically certified though, so any medical issues should also be presented to your GP, to ensure yoga will not worsen your condition).
